With the obsession of the modern Japanese for fine coffee, cups in various forms are almost ubiquitous in the studios of young Japanese ceramists. Although, with rare exceptions, convention dominates cups for sake and tea, cups and mugs for coffee and beer are tantalizing challenges for the fourteen young artists featured in this holiday exhibition.
