In many Japanese homes, there are closets full of old-fashioned Japanese Kimonos. @Because there are very few women who still where kimonos, many of these precious silk robes were thrown away.@@Although recently, the true value of these kimonos were rediscovered, and many artists in Japan started to recycle the fabric (kofu), and create new pieces. Akemi Yoshida is one of those artists that chose to use the kofu, and invent something new and different. In our store, we hold her hand-made corsages; each one is hand crafted and unique, and will never be duplicated. Every petal in the flower is distinct, and carefully crafted with a wire in each one, as to hold the place of the petal. Please enjoy the mix of traditional Japanese art, and modern beauty incorporated in Akemi Yoshida's corsages.
