Sachiko Furui was born in Osaka, Japan. After ten years of establishing her art, she settled in Boston in 1985. Her first woodblock print was made in the first year of her American life, which was Old North Church in Boston. Since then she started designing Eight Views of New England and Six Views of DE and PA. Whenever she visits, her eyes catch some beautiful landscapes all over the country.

Her life project is to finish A Hundred Views of America by woodblock print, just like Hiroshige Ando of Edo period in Japan (1797-1858). In her works, there are some influences from her traditional skill of dyeing art (KATAZOME).

She also works with mixed media.
