Kobayashi Shoukoh has been widely exhibited in Japan, Belgium, France, Poland, Holland, Denmark and elsewhere in the world. He is recognized for his works on an unusually large scale -at times up to 40 feet in width- and for his complex, richly dimensional and energetic images that are distinguished by the innovative use of an old sprinkled wax technique known as maki-ro. He is a lecturer at Kyoto Seika University and at the Graduate School of Art at Kyoto University of Education.
