Using his own method and taking advantage of the sheer nature of the cloth, Osamu Kishi creates each work by applying acrylic paint, gold powder, and gold and silver foil on traditional Japanese Ohshima Tsumugi cloth. He strives to create the new "flat space" into his works.

1972 Graduated Ryukoku University, Philosophy Major
Participated in Independent Art Association Exhibition

Traveled around Europe to visit museums
Realized the depth of colors and Japanese Art
Converted to Dye from Oil Painting and became the Yuuzen Zome Kimono Artist
1983 Became the founding member of "Shinju Kai"
1990 Began using new materials and changed style
Began annual exhibition of his Fabricwork
1997 Made-to-Order Jishoin Temple Monk's Buddhist coat
