FUKUMOTO SHIGEKI is a world renowned Rozome artist who is frequently exhibited in Japan, East Asia and Europe. In 1992 he began to employ a technique of inlaying to alter his geometric patterns, which involves cutting patches of dyed textile and re-inserting them into the larger works to create a new sensuality and dimensional depth to the surface designs. He is a Professor at Osaka University of Arts.
